How to choose a domain name for your student website?
Upon registration, there are three options regarding domains:
- Use your own pre-existing domain
- Buy a new domain (all common extensions .com, .net, etc. available)
- Get started with a subdomain of type <yourname>.siteground.net for FREE
If you choose to register a new domain name, think carefully about what address you want to use. You CAN pick a domain name that includes all/part of your name, but you don't have to. (Sometimes, picking a domain that reflects your name will make it more likely that people will find it when they search for you on the Web.)
What features does your account have?
The account that you will get is a special student plan identical to our StartUp plans except for the free domain (you can still claim a free subdomain, please read below). You can learn more about all our hosting plans and their features at https://www.siteground.com/shared-hosting-features.htm
