How do I troubleshoot website errors?

Troubleshooting errors depends on the HTTPS status code:

  • HTTP error 403 – go to Site Tools > Site > File Manager and check if there is an index file, review the .htaccess file of the website for deny rules, check permissions.
  • 404 – check if the file/URL exists.
  • HTTP error 500 – check the ownership and permissions, review the .htaccess file for incorrect directives, missing closing or opening tags, try using a different PHP version.
  • HTTP error 503 – check error logs, optimize the website, and/or add more resources to your plan.
  • 504 – check why the server’s timeout limits are reached by reviewing the script that times out.
