What SSL/TLS protocols are supported on different Siteground servers

On all of our shared servers the following SSL/TLS protocols are supported for web access:

  • TLS v1.1
  • TLS v1.2

SSL v2 and v3 are not supported.

TLS 1.0 encryption protocol is not considered strong cryptography anymore and therefore should no longer be used for secure communications according to the PCI standards. This is why it is disabled by default on SiteGround servers.

On Cloud and Dedicated hosting plans all SSL/TLS protocols can be enabled or disabled per request. For accounts hosted on shared servers the TLS protocols can also be enabled or disabled per customer's request, but only if the account has a dedicated IP address.
