I have updated my DNS settings. Now how long will it take before my domain starts resolving?

When DNS records have been changed it takes about 24 hours for the changes to propagate and take effect. Only after that you will be able to see the result of the DNS changes you have made. If after 24 hours the DNS change has not taken effect yet, try clearing your browser's cache . To resolve a domain name to a certain IP address without having to wait for the DNS change to propagate, you can modify your hosts file . Important! When you change the nameservers of a domain, all advanced records (A-records, CNAME-records, MX-records, SRV-records and so on) would resolve from the DNS zone of the provider, whose nameservers you are setting. Thus, if you are using a custom A-record or MX-record for your needs, it is strongly recommended to add them in the DNS zone of your new provider in order to ensure minimal downtime and / or propagation.…

My registrar does not accept your DNS servers, please help!

First make sure you are entering the correct DNS servers for your domain. You can find them by reading this article . Some local registrars (.de for example) have specific requirements for the DNS servers. Sometimes our server's default DNS is rejected because a requirement is not met. If this is the case you should post a ticket from your Customer's area in the corresponding DNS category and explain in details which requirement is not met. How to change my CNAME record?

There is no problem to change the CNAME records for your domain. SiteGround customers can do so via cPanel for their hosting account. To change the CNAME record access: cPanel -> Advanced DNS Zone Editor -> Adjust the desired CNAME record from the list Note that you should set a domain name as destination for the CNAME record as it does not accept IP addresses. If you are not a SiteGround customer, you should be able to edit your CNAME records from the control panel at your host/registrar. How to change my NS record?

There is no problem to change the NS records for your domain. SiteGround customers can make this change from: Customers' Area -> My Accounts -> Manage (next to the domain name you want) -> Your Domain DNS . Modify the NS records for your domain and then click the Update button to save the changes. It will take several hours for the DNS change to propagate. If you are not a SiteGround customer, you should be able to edit your NS records from the control panel at your host/registrar. Will my personal information be deleted from the WHOIS database if I do not renew my domain name?

EPP Code – What is EPP Code

What is EPP Code The EPP key (Authorization code) is one of the safeguards against unauthorized transfers of domain name registrations and it protects your rights as a domain owner. The EPP key is required when transferring .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info and .us domain names. It is not possible to initiate a domain name transfer for these domains without an EPP code. Where to find the EPP Code If your domain is registered by SiteGround you can obtain the EPP key in your Customer's area, My Account, Domain names. Next to the domain you are interested in there will be a button "Manage". Following this link will provide you with all the information about your domain name including an Obtain EPP Code section at the end. You can request that the EPP key code that is needed for domain transfer is sent to you. The code will be sent to the administrative email related with your domain name. Here is a more detailed explanation about EPP key with screenshots on this matter. If your domain is NOT registered by SiteGround, you will need to contact your current registrar to obtain the EPP key before being able to initiate a domain transfer.   Please note that EPP codes are case sensitive.
