Managed PHP Service vs Manual PHP Version Management

Managed PHP Service vs Manual PHP Version Management

We provide two options for PHP version management:

Managed PHP Service

When your site is set up to use our Managed PHP service we will automatically update your PHP once a new and stable version is available. All new sites are set up to use our managed PHP service by default. We highly recommend this option for all sites.

Manual PHP Versions Management

It is also possible for you to manually choose the PHP version of your site. If you do that, your PHP version will not be automatically updated by us.

To check PHP management settings that apply for your site, go to Site Tools > Devs > PHP Manager > PHP Version. You will see an info box about what is your site current state.

PHP status information box

To edit the current PHP version management use the pencil icon in the PHP version tab.

NOTE: For sites using our Standard PHP setup, you may check if your PHP version will be automatically updated for each of your subdomain by using the Select Domain dropdown in the PHP setup section.

NOTE: For staging sites you may check if your PHP version will be automatically updated from the Staging Sites tab.
