SiteGround web hosting company has recently enhanced its service in order to target better its European users. Last week the company introduced prices in EURO and British Pounds, additional free European domain names and more convenient access to phone support from the territory of the old continent. This is not the first step that SiteGround takes to get closer to markets outside the USA. Last year the company launched its first server location in Europe and a few months later one more in Asia. The special attention to its international customers is now extended with new enhancements targeting the European citizens.
Brace yourself, Europe! In October the SiteGround crew is coming for the biggest WordPress conference on the old continent – WordCamp Europe! And that's not all – four of our clients will have the chance to win a free entry ticket for the event and be invited as VIP guests at the SiteGround booth and at a special SiteGround dinner.
SiteGround web hosting company has become the official hosting partner of Open Classifieds (OC), which is one of the most popular free web applications for building classified sites. As part of the partnership Open-classifieds.com itself has been moved to a SiteGround server and a special joint hosting offer was created by the two companies for all Open Classifieds users.
Hey there! My name is Brian Krogsgard, and I'm one of the co-organizers of WordCamp Birmingham, a regional WordPress conference in Alabama that we affectionally refer to as WP Y'all.
I was introduced to some of the SiteGround team at WordCamp San Francisco, where we had an opportunity to talk about the awesome things they are doing in the managed hosting ecosystem. Trust me, it's some cool stuff. And you know that of course, since you've entrusted them with your business!
It is mid-summer now but security issues take no vacation. Actually they find the most inappropriate time to appear and make our lives more interesting, to say the least. On Thursday, 25 July the Joomla! Project announced the availability of Joomla 3.1.4/2.5.13 and many users upgraded their websites because the new releases provide tons of useful new features and bug fixes. One will think: job well done, it is time to hit the beach! But… On Thursday, 01 August, the Joomla! Project surprisingly announced the immediate availability of Joomla! 3.1.5/2.5.14. Apparently not much time to sip exotic summer cocktails was allowed. The reason for this extremely short period between the two versions was that a critical level security issue was discovered just after the previous release and it had the potential to affect all Joomla! CMS versions. Yes, that's correct - we are talking about all the Joomla! sites out there. All versions are affected - 1.5, 1.6, 1.7, 2.5 and 3. Sounds scary, right? Not if you're hosted on SiteGround servers!
It's Jazz Friday again. Happy new WordPress release everybody! WordPress 3.6 is live and the list of improvements, new features and bug fixes seems to be endless. Since you may have already looked over the official post at WordPress.org I'll try to highlight only the most important changes and skip those 700+ fixes and minor UI changes. SiteGround uses WordPress to power up this blog and our knowledge base, and I have already updated both instances without any issues along the way.
We just got back from a long and utterly exciting journey to San Francisco for the biggest WordCamp of the year – WordCamp San Francisco. We proudly sponsored the conference for a second consecutive year and to say that we had a blast will be an understatement! There were more than 600 people attending, and I had the feeling we spoke to almost all of them, amazing line-up of speakers and sessions, including Matt Mullenweg’s State of the Word, and the Contribute day that made this event especially valuable for me personally.
Lets face it, lots of website owners still shiver at the word „SEO“ - either because it's perceived as time-consuming and tricky business, but also because everyone has an opinion on it and you never know what the latest trend is. We've all been there, and if there is one company who's working actively towards turning this perception around, that is Moz (formerly SEOMoz).
Good online marketing is building influence through all critical channels: social, content, links, and mentions. Easier said than done when all of your marketing efforts are scattered around and it's hard to get the full picture. To show you that it can be done easily, effectively and on a budget, we partnered with Moz to offer an exclusive 60 Days of their Moz PRO service for FREE to SiteGround clients only!
