These days it is getting Joomla hot in the SiteGround office. We have participated in the Joomla! Pizza, Bugs and Fun event and were backed up in this initiative by the almighty Joomla backup expert – the Akeeba founder Nicholas Dionysopoulos.
We’re excited to announce that a new WordPress tool has been added to our servers. WordPress users who love command line will be happy to find WP-CLI pre-installed on all SiteGround accounts.
WP-CLI allows you to do multiple things like updating your WordPress, installing themes and plugins, setting up multiple sites, etc., and all that without using a web browser. To take advantage of the tool you don’t need to install anything yourself. Simply login to your account via SSH, navigate to the folder of your WordPress installation and start typing management commands – it’s that simple!
SSH can be easily enabled for all SiteGround accounts through your cPanel. For detailed instructions refer to the following tutorial: How to enable SSH for your account.
Peter Bui, host of the super cool Joomlabe.at podcast, didn’t cry, but got super excited about the redesign and invited us again to share some insights behind the redesign. Lily - our very own marketing master and visionary of the rebranding project reveals why we chose the handcrafted idea and leaves some pretty cool marketing and rebranding takeaways. Check out the episode and make sure to listen to the very end – you might win some SG swag too!
Do you think we did good communicating the handcrafted philosophy? Throw your comments below.
SiteGround web hosting company has reinvented its brand identity and launched a complete redesign of its website, company logo, and hosting plans structure in line with the new brand concept. The brand message communicates now more clearly that SiteGround delivers a high-quality, superior service thanks to its "handcraft" approach to hosting as opposed to the "mass-production" one chosen by the majority of web hosts.
We are in a full-blown testing mode in the office. Our new website will be here very, very soon. While waiting, take a look at the three videos that will be part of the new SiteGround home page. They will explain a lot about SiteGround approach to web hosting and how we make your website safer, faster and better supported. But what is even more important, they will make you feel the real magic of our handmade philosophy.
After the success of our first webinar series on Joomla speed and SEO, we received numerous requests to organize sessions about Joomla security – extremely hot topic, especially after the recent spike of hack attempts. We didn’t wait long and partnered with our good friend Nicholas Dionysopoulos from Akeeba Backups for our second webinar series on Joomla security and backups.
Lately, we have added some fancy new features for Joomla and WordPress users and you might be wondering what’s next in our queue. We intend to add such features for other popular applications on our servers as well. So the good news this week is that our Drupal users can enjoy Drush 6.0 preinstalled on our servers!
During the last few months we have been working on an epic production, which will soon be released. The world premiere of our new website design will heat up the summer season. And this time it is not about impressing the audience with visual effects only. This time our website will tell a great story. The story is about how we do things that others never considered possible, and how we create a new and better shared hosting world for your website.
