Automatic Updates on SiteGround Servers

In 2012 we started the SiteGround How Cool Is That challenge to help our clients learn about the cool technologies that only we provide. Every week of the challenge we posted a new infographic explaining one of our unique features. In the final stage of the competition, our clients were invited to vote for the coolest technology by sharing their feedback in a comment. Over 100 people voted for our Auto-updates technology for Joomla and WordPress as the coolest SiteGround feature.     Such a fantastic thing to have on a site. I use WordPress and it’s great knowing I don’t have to worry about using an outdated version and be vulnerable to attack and hacking. Not everyone can check for updates 24/7 and it could only take minutes for a site to be rendered vulnerable and targeted by unsavory characters.

    It really makes me feel my site is in safe hands with Siteground. Amazing host.

    Listen I don't worry about security and I certainly do not worry about my sites data. I love the thought of set and forget, it is like someone holding your hand all day long with not a care in the world. Backups sure but I don't have to worry about it with SiteGround!

    Use Siteground for several years, was happy when they "moved" to EU.
    I had never had a real problem related to my hosting and the response to ticket have been prompt and helpful.
    The update of program have been significant increased and normaly one a few days after a patch have been released you can find the possibility for for getting in sync with your program (in my case it is WordPress and Moodle)

    I'm not sure how I ever lived without the auto-updates feature. I use my hosting space for multiple WordPress installations, and I remember when I had to update all of them manually. It was slow, painful, and often resulted in the "white screen of death". Now I don't have to worry about anything except creating backups. Thanks, SiteGround!

    Extremely useful. We use it for WP, we still have to test with Joomla. If it does allow to migrate form Joomla 1.5 to the latest one, we will be really impressed! Really, if ti work seamlessly Siteground will be our hero.

    You have no idea how I dreaded to update manually my old site, the use of updating via FTP and the chances that something will go wrong will make me shiver with cold sweats every time an update was due. And just like in Murphy s law, something will go wrong. The automatic updates of Siteground are just what the doctor ordered. No more worries, or headaches trying to recover from a manual update go wrong.

    Auto updates rock. That is where I always fall behind due to time and fear of messing something up then being in a panic to get it back. Im not a big IT person and have really fallen behind in the last few years with all the new technology. With Autoupdate, its a huge weight lifted off my shoulders.

    As a customer who made the switch from GoDaddy to Siteground, I have to say the entire experience has been fundamentally better. The customer interface is far less clunky and cluttered, looks very professional, and doesn't make wholesale changes every six months, which can be very disorienting. Also, the customer service has been top-drawer; I've had very few problems, but those I did have, were very adroitly mitigated by your knowledgeable staff. I recommend Siteground to ANYbody that asks my advice about hosting.

    Only a couple of my web apps really benefit from this feature... So it's one less thing to worry about and spend my precious time on, which can be focused on maintaining some of the custom hacks and software that we use. In either case, interfacing with the the site is easy, and I know exactly what is going on and when.

    No more browsing on-line for proper file versions. No more manually uploading to the server of multiple files. No more trying to figure out "what went wrong..."

    One-button click updates. What is there not to like about it? It saves time, energy that we gladly allocate to administration of the site.

    I LOVE the auto update feature! I work with both Joomla and WordPress - both of which are always coming out with new versions. I hate having to always update them myself and usually lag behind on it even though I know the updates are an important part of site security. Joomla is especially a pain to update myself. I'm always afraid I'm going to mess something up by accident.

    Smart thinking, Siteground, for doing a back-up of the site before the update as well.

    One if the many things that impressed me with site ground was the daily backup. Lets be honest, computers don't always work like they should , throwing human imperfection in with that can lead to serious problems! Once we get out website up, we don't want to have to worry about losing some or all I out says because of a little computer glitch or the click of a wrong button. Sitegrounds daily backup makes this next to impossible. A backup is one thing, but a daily backup that is stored a month it more??? That's amazing! I'm extremely appreciative of it and everything else site ground does to make things easier on the user.

    I have always been calm when dealing with Siteground. With the many sites that are hosted for me and the referrals that I have made, contacting Siteground customer service is one of the calmest thing since the invention of a Mac Book Pro. The response time is as fast as the processor in a Mac Book Pro.     I have been associated with Siteground for nearly 6 years now. I must admit that i have had a great experience till date with 100% uptime. I have almost 20 domains hosted and I am relaxed since the day i have signed up. It even helps me to build strong customer relations due to better service.
    One more best part is the reseller management system which is perfect in order to manage any or all domains at once.
    Truly, this is the best i have experienced in my 30yrs career.

    Auto update has been a great recent addition to the siteground package.
    Being able to worry about the day to day running of my website is a lot easier when I dont have to constantly check if there is a new wordpress update.

    Siteground really has been fantastic. Their daily backups are nice because they let me sleep easy! I've been thrilled with their servers and services. I use another major hosting company that I used before finding Siteground. They don't hold a candle to SG's regular improvements. I have never had any problems with SG sites compared to numerous problems with the other company. Keep up the good work Siteground!

    I have two sites, and Siteground was doing Auto-updates for one of them (the newer one). I just found out from this infographic that I can turn on auto-updates for my other site which is a HUGE relief. Wow, this is something I have been putting off and putting off because of the technical details involved in ensuring the update goes smoothly. Now Siteground will do the updates for me, and there is an option to restore the site in the event that something goes wrong. This saves me A LOT of time. Thank you! Just another reason I <3 Siteground!
