This year we’re starting a new series featuring our Top Customer Care reps every month! So far we’ve been sharing those on our social media accounts only, but we decided to turn it into an official new category on the blog and even expand it with some insights on the people themselves to reveal a bit about who they are not just in the office. SiteGround has always been about our people, so we hope you like it!
I’ve been at SiteGround ever since I can remember - more than 11 years now. I have seen it grow from a couple to almost 300 employees. I have collaborated closely with all of our departments on all kinds of projects. However, this latest one was hands-down one of the most fun and gratifying I’ve ever worked on - that’s why I wanted to tell you about it.
Usually, the first thing that comes to mind when you hear “web analytics” is streams of data and SEO. That's because everyone is concerned about getting traffic. But traffic is just the first step towards building a successful website. One of the most important aspects of any website is whether visitors actually do what you want them to do. Does your website design manage to guide users to the right information, so that they don't leave? Do they click on the action buttons? And more importantly, would your website perform better in its goals, if you made even minor structure and design changes. CrazyEgg is the simple heat map tool that gives you the answers to all these questions.
Brace yourself, Europe! In October the SiteGround crew is coming for the biggest WordPress conference on the old continent – WordCamp Europe! And that's not all – four of our clients will have the chance to win a free entry ticket for the event and be invited as VIP guests at the SiteGround booth and at a special SiteGround dinner.
Lets face it, lots of website owners still shiver at the word „SEO“ - either because it's perceived as time-consuming and tricky business, but also because everyone has an opinion on it and you never know what the latest trend is. We've all been there, and if there is one company who's working actively towards turning this perception around, that is Moz (formerly SEOMoz).
Good online marketing is building influence through all critical channels: social, content, links, and mentions. Easier said than done when all of your marketing efforts are scattered around and it's hard to get the full picture. To show you that it can be done easily, effectively and on a budget, we partnered with Moz to offer an exclusive 60 Days of their Moz PRO service for FREE to SiteGround clients only!
Ever heard of „cowboy coding“? More or less, we've all done it – no time for planning, let alone test website changes, each new upload messing up your CSS, installing an incompatible plugin, doing everything „live“ and visible immediately for all your website visitors to see. After all this, you end up hoping you had a backup.

If we had to sum up web hosting in a simple formula, it would be: servers + people. The first part is easy - anyone could get servers. Maybe not the best ones out there, but essentially, servers are relatively easy to find. But what makes the big difference, are the people. Combine good hardware with the unique approach of skilled professionals and the attitude of great people and you get a unique product. That’s our company’s philosophy and in order to achieve it, we need unique HR practices. We recently had a new wave of fresh talent hired for the SiteGround Technical and Customer service departments and in the heat of the new training season, we decided to tell you a little bit more about what it takes to become part of our team.
In 2012 we started the SiteGround How Cool Is That challenge to help our clients learn about the cool technologies that only we provide. Every week of the challenge we posted a new infographic explaining one of our unique features. In the final stage of the competition, our clients were invited to vote for the coolest technology by sharing their feedback in a comment. Our unique security technology gathered most of the votes and was chosen as the coolest Siteground feature among all others. Read the comments to see the feedback from the clients who voted for it or check a short infographic on how it works.
