We launched a new Ultrafast PHP server setup that solves the extremely challenging task of providing fast, stable PHP while supporting Apache and the variety of .htaccess security rules defined by users and apps. Clients on GoGeek and Cloud plans with Site Tools who use it have reported up to 30% faster sites!

We added many new performance optimizers for free in our SG Optimizer plugin. We started supporting the much lighter WebP image format, lazy-load of videos, Google font loading optimizations, Heartbeat control, and more, all of which help make your site load much faster.

Operating on Google Cloud allowed us to manage our resource usage much more efficiently, which enabled us to add free resources to some of our plans.

Huge progress with migrations to Site Tools

We’ve streamlined the complex process of transferring accounts from cPanel to Site Tools. We expect to finish with all migrations by the end of March as we now move sites as fast as 5.44 seconds per account!

Improved web accessibility

Both the new Client Area and Site Tools got enhanced with high contrast themes, screen reader support, keyboard handling.

Supporting Our Communities During The COVID Pandemic

Like all people in the world, we were strongly affected by COVID-19. Since March 2020, we have been working remotely, struggling with the surrounding uncertainty, observing our communities’ difficulties to cope with the crisis, and trying to contribute and help our team members, clients, and people in need as much as we can.

We gave free renewals in April for clients from Italy and Spain and extended the hosting of clients from other regions who have asked us for postponement of their payments.

One thing became very clear this year - many businesses had to move online if they wanted to survive, and many people who remained jobless started an online project. But going online is not always easy, and many of us need assistance and guidance. So, we took the challenge and put a lot of work into free helpful content for anyone who starts a website and wants to build their presence online.
