Last year was an important milestone for us. It marked our 15th anniversary as a company. Ever since we started our journey in the hosting industry, we have always had one goal: to make our clients, team, and community HAPPY. Read below to see how we did it in 2019!
SHARE & WIN COOL PRIZESWe did so much in 15 years! SiteGround started as an idea of four university friends, and today, we are a BIG multinational family. Check out the videos below where some of our team members share what it means to be part of SiteGround.
One of the most notable events of the year was the complete redesign of our client interfaces.
Add a domain, install your site building software of choice, add useful extras, and launch a site in a few clicks!
You can now manage all your websites from one place and quickly access their individual set of Site Tools without having several login credentials.
If you’re working as a team, you can easily add collaborators to the sites you manage. Every person you add gets their own login and a separate account.

We added more value for our clients with exciting new features. A Backup Restore option is now available on all shared plans, our GrowBig plan now includes WordPress Staging and On-demand Backups, and our GoGeek plan got enhanced with Advanced Priority Support.
To enhance even more the loading speed of the websites hosted on our servers, we replaced the Static Cache with a new NGINX Direct Delivery method for serving static content. It works much more efficiently and provides better performance for your site visitors.
We were one of the first web hosts to support QUIC technology, the base for the next-gen Internet protocol HTTP/3. The greatest advantage of QUIC is that it makes sites load faster, even when your visitors’ network connection is slow.
In 2019, we enhanced our SG Optimizer plugin, which now speeds up over 700,000 WordPress sites hosted on our platform. It now offers a complete set of front-end optimizations, improved caching, HTTPS configuration, PHP compatibility checks, and more!
Passing the 2-million domains mark on our servers in 2019 meant we needed to ensure all of them will continue to get the stellar customer service we’re known for. So we got even more efficient.

As always, we keep contributing and giving back to the open-source software that the majority of our clients use on their sites. Here’s a glimpse of what our team has been up to in the WordPress world.
SiteGround Spain Country Manager & Content Team Lead for WordCamp Europe 2019 and 2020
11 Contributors from the SiteGround team dedicate a total of 70 hours per week to 7 WordPress teams.
9 WordPress ambassadors supported in 2019 for attending and speaking at 22 events.
82 WordPress events sponsored and 6 WordCamps worldwide that we helped organize.
In the end all that matters is whether our efforts made a difference for the people using our services on a daily basis. In addition to all your feedback throughout the year, our Annual Client Survey again showed stellar Client Satisfaction Rate!
