How to Request a Joomla Backup

Learn how to request a Joomla 3 backup creation from the SiteGround experts

As part of our exclusive support services, you can request a backup of your site to be created by our professionals. Note, that since this backup will be created for you manually, we charge additional fee for this service.

The first thing you should do to request a backup to be created for your Joomla 3 site is to login to your SiteGround User Area. Once you do that, click on the Support tab in the top menu.

Next, click on the Open a Support Ticket button, located in the right menu of your User Area.

Now, select Development Services from the list of available features provided by our support team.

On this page you will see a list of the available extra services and their prices. Click on the Order button next to the Backup Creation label.

On this page, you have to choose the account your Joomla is installed in (if you have more than one) and add instructions for our support team regarding the backup creation. Since your backup will be created manually, you can request it in a way that is most suitable for you - complete, partial, only your files or database, etc.

Select the preferred payment method and press the Submit button. To monitor the progress of your request, go back to the Support section and click the View My Tickets button. On this page, select the ticket regarding your backup creation request and click on it.

Here, you will see all information you've submitted in the ticket and all replies from our Support team specialists.

Once your backup is ready, your ticket will be updated by one of our experts with detailed instructions on how to obtain your archive. In addition, an email notification will be send to the address you've specified in your account details.
