IPB Tutorial: Calendar Mod
There is a built-in calendar module that comes with your IPB forum. You can administer it from the IPB admin area -> Management. Click on Add New Calendar link: 
Enter the required information. The settings you make will be immediately available on the forum's home page after you click on Add New Calendar:
